Founded in 1968 by the Catholic Education Service to train teachers, Newman University College has diversified into other areas including both traditional single and joint honours degrees and the recently introduced foundation degrees. However, the founding principles of supporting students and providing opportunity to all continue to influence the work of Newman.
Situated on the outskirts of South West Birmingham, Newman University College's campus is based in Bartley Green, some 8 miles from the city centre, and overlooks Bartley reservoir and the Worcestershire countryside beyond. Its location makes it convenient for access to both the M5 and M42 motorways.
Newman University College is a diverse and multi–cultural community. Staff and students from overseas make up the staff and student body and come from a wide variety of social, ethnic and religious backgrounds.
Newman University College aims to be an Equal Opportunities employer and it is our policy to recruit staff solely on merit, irrespective of ethnic origin, religious belief, sexual orientation, disability, gender or age.
