History Of Alexander Stadium

Alexander stadium is said to be one of UK’s premier athletics stadiums and has been a host to several major events and competitions such as the AAA Championships, the Disability World Athletics Championships. The Stadium was built in 1975 and was open for training in 1976. The stadium was originally comprised of a track and Main stand, which came in operation in 1978. As part of a £1million improvement programme in the year 2000 the track and centre green was resurfaced.
