Aston Villa's History
In 1874 Aston Villa FC was formed by the cricketers
of Villa Cross as a recreation during the winter period of the
year. The club
was one of the twelve club founders of the football league in 1888.
In the early days Aston villa achieved several FA cup and league
title success between 1887- 1896. After this period Villa Park
was built at Aston Lower grounds, on the site of an old Victorian
amusement park as Aston villa's own stadium. During this year Aston
Villa became the second club to complete the league and FA cup
double.
In the early 1900’s after winning 6 FA Cup title Aston Villa
begun to slowly decline, due to the down full in play they were
relegated to the second division in 1936. They continued to try
to regain their top status but unfortunately was unable to gain
a trophy until 37years after the last.

Success was not found after their FA cup win in 1956-57
and the club were relegated for a third time in 1967. Eight years
later they retuned to the first division followed by a league cup
win in 1977.
In 1982 Villa were the proud winners of the European
cup, however this success did not last and the club have only managed
to win 3 major
competitions since. Aston Villa after having great success in the
early years, have unfortunately not lived up to their name and
have been struggling to stay in the premiership league. In the
future it would be nice to see them achieve top status and win
more titles. ‘Up the villa’

well, however his lifestyle out of football was having an effect
on his training and after 2 seasons at Old Trafford his contract
was ended. Yorke went on to play at other clubs, but he was
unable to regain his status at the clubs and now plays for
