Higher Education Advisors' Conference 2017

We are holding our bi-annual Higher Education Advisors' Conference on Friday 19th May 2017, 10am-3pm.

The event is the perfect opportunity for our school/college colleagues to gain an update on issues with Higher Education, share best practice and, of course, find out a little bit more about Newman University along the way.

The event is completely free and you will be provided with lunch on the day.

HE Advisors' Programme 2017

10.00 Welcome / What we Offer / Discussion
To kick start the day we will be introducing the team, giving you more information on what we can do for you and your students, and giving you chance to have a quick discussion and networking opportunity.

10.30 Campus Development Update
We are currently undergoing a multi-million pound redevelopment and the estates team will be at hand to give you more information.

10.45 Vice-Chancellor’s Vision
Our new VC, Prof Scott Davidson, will be meeting visitors and discussing his plans for Newman moving forward.

11.15 Refreshment Break

11.30 Student Finance
Representatives from Student Finance England will be answering questions on tackling student finance and any updates.

12.15 Lunch

1.00 Quickfire: Get to Know our Courses
This session aims to get you up to speed on a variety of our diverse courses at Newman. Academics will give you some quick information on what their courses involve, placement opportunities and employability aspects.

2.00 Student Opportunities – Gambia Field Trip
In association with the small charity, BFig, Newman students are given the opportunity to visit and support projects in West Africa, creating an unforgettable international experience. The session will provide you will more information and give you an idea of experiences from both staff and students who have attended.

2.30 NSU Newman Students’ Union - Student Panel / Student Opportunities
Our current and our newly appointed president for 2017/18 will be giving you information on what the Students' Union at Newman can do for students. This will also include the opportunity to pitch some questions to some of our current students
