Dear Student,

Congratulations on achieving your place at Newman University College. We are confident that you will find the course that you have chosen interesting, stimulating and valuable, because we are a small community providing that extra support and we are distinct by name and by nature. We are delighted that you have chosen to come to Newman and hope that your time with us will be happy and successful.

As a student in Higher Education you will be expected to be responsible for organising your own learning in ways which will be different from your time in school, or further education, or employment. For this reason we provide for this information, the Welcome Pack, to help you to prepare. This website contains a lot of useful information, so please take the time to read this very carefully. It will help you to make sense of the first few busy days at the University College. Staff here are looking forward to welcoming you and helping you settle in so if you have questions about anything, don’t hesitate to ask.

I also look forward to meeting you during your first few days at Newman and getting to know you in the time ahead. This is the start of an important period in your life and I am sure that you will discover new talents, skills and challenges as you work towards your degree. Please remember that everyone who works at Newman is there to help you, including the Students’ Union.
