Newman Students' Union

You will be a member of NSU: an independent organisation located at Newman that is here for all students.

Where are we?
The NSU office is located in The Hub above the Sanctuary Cafe. Feel free to pop up for a chat and see what we have to offer!

Why is Newman Students’ Union here?
Newman Students' Union is here to provide representation, support, advice, guidance, welfare, societies, and entertainment to our members. NSU endeavour to help students get the most out of their time at Newman, aiming to enhance the learning experience for all members and creating opportunities for students to get involved outside of their course-based learning.

The main purpose of NSU is to represent students in any capacity that is possible. Ways we do this range from managing our Course Reps, giving advice and guidance where possible, and sitting on many of the University meeting boards, putting forward the views of you - the students to the highest powers here at Newman University.

If you need any advice then please feel free to pop into the Students’ Union and we will help you in any way that we can.

NSU has its own Welfare Officer, Charlotte Poolton. This position provides students with an independent person (who is also a student!) to listen to your welfare concerns and then "signpost" you to the right person or organisation for further help. Alongside this, the Welfare Officer also runs campaigns on welfare issues close to students' hearts.
