Senior Academic Support Tutors

Senior Academic Support Tutors (known as SASTs) are available on a daily basis to assist students following single honours, joint honours or foundation degree programmes.

SASTs are on duty every day to help students with a range of issues. These include personal development planning, facilitating academic progress or assisting in the analysis and response to assignment feedback. SASTs have access to further information and can liaise with other services that may be able to help you if you find yourself in difficulty.

SAST also assist on the pre-entry HEADstart course. This aims to help you think about what you want from your studies whilst developing the skills needed to study effectively and successfully during your time at Newman. Click here for more information about HEADstart.

Students following Initial Teacher Education courses are assigned to an Academic Professional Tutor and further details about this are given to students during induction.
