Chaplaincy at Newman is here for all students and staff, whatever your faith or world view. Whether it is advice on matters of faith/religion/God or someone to waste five minutes before or after a lecture with, do pop in! It would be great to meet you and welcome you to the Newman community.
The Chaplaincy Team of Margaret Holland (Chaplain), our Step into the Gap Volunteer, Charlotte Bray, and Fr. Frans Chanterie SJ are active in organising liturgies, regular Masses and services throughout the year, with the main highlights being the Christmas Carol Service in December and the Newman Foundation Day in February. We also work with the Christian Union, CathSoc and Islamic Society, and are always looking for new ways to celebrate faith on campus. Another passion of ours is making the world a better place for everyone, so keep an eye out for our charitable activities and awareness raising events on key issues, these will be a particular focus of our Step into the Gap volunteer.
Newman has a Chapel, a multi-faith prayer room as well as quiet spaces for reflection, all located along Chapel Walk, which are available during your time with us. Our Chapel is currently being refurbished and we look forward to showing you the fruits of that labour in the Autumn term.
A full list of all Chaplaincy activities and Mass times will be available at Freshers' Fair and on www.newman.ac.uk/chaplaincy
