Peer Mentors

Could a peer mentor help you?
For many students the first semester of university life can be quite stressful and full of uncertainties. Peer mentors are students who have passed their first year of study who volunteer their time to support students as they get used to university life. Students may find help with, but not limited to, the following:

  • Things you are not certain about on your course
  • Goal setting
  • Time management
  • Living away from home
  • Learning about the local area
  • Shopping and budgeting
  • Student finance
  • Finding the right services on campus

Meetings are confidential between you and the peer mentor and how many times you meet with a peer mentor is dependent on you.

If you would like to see a peer mentor, please contact Matthew Leo by emailing: leox200@newman.ac.uk
