Welcome to Newman University College Library!

Thanks for coming to this page, we hope the following information will help you feel at home in the Library.

The Library is accessed via the Atrium, just past Starbucks, you will need your swipe card to access it. Student Support services are on the second floor.

In the Library we have self-service kiosks where you can borrow, renew or return books, pay fines and check your account. There are two desks where you can ask for help:

• Library Service desk - this is on the right as you enter the Library. Come here to ask for help about borrowing or return books, collect reserved items, enquire about membership of other libraries, buy printing credits etc. This desk is open whenever the Library is open.
  
  
• Enquiry desk - this is on the left as you enter the Library, and is staffed by a qualified subject Librarian. Come here to ask about electronic resources, using the catalogue, finding books and general enquiries related to your information needs. The opening hours during term time are:
  
  
  
  
  • Mondays to Thursdays: 10.30am-3.30pm and then 4.15pm-8.00pm
  • Fridays: 10.30am-3.30pm
  • Saturdays: 11.30am-3.00pm
    
    Appointments can be made for longer sessions to help with specific subject searches by e-mailing library-enquiries@newman.ac.uk

LEARNING RESOURCES AGREEMENT - please remember to read this carefully, as you must abide by its terms

Information skills training - following on from your Induction, we offer several training sessions aimed at developing your skills in using information resources, to find the material you need for course work. Please ask your tutor to arrange these with the Library. For online help, use the Help and Guidance pages on the Library website.

Consideration for other users - please do not disturb other users by eating, drinking, using mobile phones or talking loudly. Silent and group study rooms are available for your use, please see details on the Enquiry desk noticeboard

When we're closed - Any items on loan (except Short Loan items) can be returned via the Book Box outside our main doors. Other loans can be renewed via the Library catalogue using your Borrower number. Voicemail messages can be left for Library staff on (0121) 476 1181 ext. 1208, or you can e-mail us on : library@newman.ac.uk
