31/03/2010: Newman welcomes visitors from Romania and Poland
Newman University is hosting visitors from the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania, and the College of Humanities and Economics, Sieradz, Poland, from 1st to 5th March. They will be contributing to two open seminars taking place at Newman, as part of the PLEYIn, Play and Learning in the Early Years project. The two year project, part funded by Leonardo Lifelong Learning Programme, will be extended to activities in Romania and Poland later in 2010.

This month sees the launch of the National Student Survey (NSS) 2010 at Newman University. The annual survey, which was first carried out in 2005, gives final-year undergraduates an opportunity to give their opinions on what they liked about their time at Newman as well as things that they felt could have been improved.

Professor Peter Lutzeier succeeded Pamela Taylor as Principal of Newman University, Birmingham following the Christmas break. He joins the higher education (HE) establishment from the University of Hull where he was previously Pro-vice Chancellor (learning and teaching). In this article, he gives us an introduction to life at Newman, along with insights into his vision for the institution and the influence his Catholic faith and Newman’s Catholic foundations have on his work.
