This coming Saturday (23rd January), Newman is the proud host of the regional qualifiers for the British Youth Fencing Championships. The event will comprise 8 hours of action packed bouts over four age groups, competing in both foil and sabre disciplines.
This is a great opportunity for sports fans to watch some high quality, fast paced, adrenaline filled action… for free! This will be particularly interesting for students and staff that would like to develop a fencing club at Newman and could potentially compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competitions.
Please feel free to come down to the event and offer your support, which begins at 10am with the foil discipline, before moving on to the sabre events at 2pm.
