Biography

Lorayne has lectured at Newman University since September 2002 having previously worked as a primary school teacher in Birmingham. Her PhD titled ‘Young people’s physical activity, attitudes towards physical education, and health related fitness’ was completed in 2008. Lorayne is approved by the University of Leicester and Liverpool Hope University as a supervisor for PhD students. She has refereed articles for various journals including the International Journal of Pediatric Obesity, Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport, and European Physical Education Review. Lorayne is an ISAK Level 1 anthropometrist.

  • Lifestyle, health-related behaviours, obesity and health
  • Physical education pedagogy and school-based physical activity
