Corin has bachelor degrees in Engineering Science & Technology (Loughborough University) and Psychology (University College London) as well as a research doctorate in Psychiatry (University of Oxford). Following completion of his DPhil, Corin worked for several years as a Post-Doctoral researcher in the University of Oxford’s Department of Psychiatry employed on a project funded by the 7th Framework of the European Commission: the European Network of Bipolar Research Centres (ENBREC). ENBREC was established to develop and implement common tools and practices in the diagnosis, assessment, care, research, and treatment of bipolar disorder across Europe.

Research Interests

Corin’s research interests centre on understanding how specific cognitions and cognitive processes contribute to the development and maintenance of psychopathology. He has published on the peri-traumatic cognitive mechanisms involved in the formation of intrusive traumatic memories, and an individual patient data meta-analysis of specific cognitive impairments associated with euthymic bipolar patients. Corin remains an Honorary Researcher at Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford.

Current Teaching

Corin is module leader for four current psychology modules: Adult Psychopathology (PY702) & Dissertations (PY708) on MSc in Clinical Applications of Psychology; and Cognition and the Brain (PYU505) and Psychopathology & Therapeutic Interventions (PYU605) on the undergraduate programmes. Corin is also Programme Leader for the MSc in Applications of Psychology commencing September 2017 and will also be module leader for Research Methods (PY710) on this programme. Corin also supervises a number of final year undergraduate and masters dissertations as well as a work placement students and is a tutor on the MRes programmes within the School of Human Sciences.

Corin is a Chartered Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of British Psychological Society and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
