John Keenan

Biography

Dr John Keenan’s teaching specialities are in English, media and communication, and Further Education. He has been a teacher in these subjects at secondary, Further Education and Higher Education levels. Dr Keenan is currently a senior lecturer running the secondary English programme for PGCE teacher trainees and also teaches on the Master’s in Education and doctorate programmes. In the past, he has worked at Leicester, Coventry, Warwick and Worcester universities in various roles including running a degree in Advertising and Media, and English lead tutor on the Teach First programme. His research interests include emotional responses to audio-visual texts and he has published articles and books on innovative methods of teaching and on College-based Higher Education.
