Tel: 0121 476 1181 (Ext. 2371)
Sarah is a senior lecturer/joint subject leader for Art and Design and teaches across single honours and Initial Teacher Education programmes. Sarah has a degree in Fine Art (Painting) from Falmouth College of Art, an MA in Surface Pattern Design from Birmingham City University and a PGCE in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from Coventry University.
Her own Surface Pattern design practice involves the use of handmade processes, such as drawing, painting, printmaking and collage to create initial designs on paper. These are taken into Photoshop where she ‘plays’ with each piece until it is saved as a digital file. She is currently developing both digitally printed and hand painted items as part of her brand.
Sarah is currently selling work to the fashion industry via a textile design studio in the U.S, with clients such as Gap and Quiksilver. Other clients include Lush Handmade Cosmetics, 3M and Neon Vintage. Her designs have been featured in recent trend reports and she has been interviewed for a number of design blogs.
