Visiting Professors and Research Fellows

The appointment of visiting academics is intended to further the mission and aims of Newman University. Visiting Professors and Research Fellows enhance our capacity for research and scholarship. In addition they enable the establishment and further developing of links with distinguished scholars, research organisations and networks.

By appointing academics in good standing and awarding honorary titles, we raise the research profile of Newman University and assist with the development of staff capacity for research and scholarship.

Visiting Professors and Research Fellows contribute through a range of activities, including:

  • Supervision of research students to PhD, EdD, and MPhil level
  • Leading research seminars and workshops
  • Membership of steering groups, sub-committees, and working parties
  • Membership of research centres
  • Joint publications
  • Joint research funding bids
