"Staff within the department are to be commended on the level and quality of the feedback they provide to students."
The Sport and Health courses provide a broad, yet in-depth study of the major disciplines within sports and exercise science. The approach is one of applied scientific enquiry, making clear links between laboratory based studies and the impact of sporting performance from beginner to elite level athletes across a range of sports.
A feature of physical education and sports studies at Newman is the excellent relationship between staff and students. Staff know students on an individual basis, and students are given the opportunity to improve their understanding of sport and exercise science by participating in research with staff. This collaborative approach leads to high quality work
being produced by students when they undertake individual projects.
The Sport and Health subject area is involved in a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
In addition, level two and three coaches work with a range of focus sports at Newman including basketball, football, hockey and rugby.
If you wish to undertake a MPhil/PhD in Sport and Health, please contact Dr Lorayne Woodfield regarding potential research: L.A.Woodfield@newman.ac.uk.
