Wembley - The home of English Football. The North Western London footballing venue, has been obsolete since the year 2000, when the FA decided it was time to rip up the famous soil where Bobby Moore famously lifted the World Cup, and start a new era of football, with the proposals for a 90,000 seater stadium put forward.

By the end of 2001, the famous twin towers of Wembley were demolished within a couple of minutes, the nation watching, as the most famous pieces of footballing concrete were obliterated. England fans amazed that the land where football began, had lost its landmark venue - At least for a couple of years...

February 2004, and the initial frame of the new ground was complete. A metal arch cascading over the stadium - the new landmark replacing the old towers. The multi-million pound project was delayed, then delayed a bit longer, and delayed even further. 7 FA Cup Finals, 7 Carling Cup Finals, 7 Community Shields, and numerous play off finals missed, as Cardiff's Millenium Stadium became their home.

At long last, March 2007, and the first England Under 21 match was played on Wembley soil, a capped capacity of 60,000 sat in the famous red seats for the first time, as an Italian grabbed the first Wembley hat trick in over a decade, a thrilling 3-3 match - the perfect beginning for a perfect stadium. Manchester United will be the first league team along with Blackburn or Chelsea to play for the FA Cup at Wembley, whilst Brazil become the first international team to play England on June 8th, ticket details can be obtained from www.thefa.com.

Here, the first pictures of the new Wembley Stadium, inside and outside, the big screens, the Wembley Arch, the programme, the ticket, the first players to step foot on the hallowed turf are released on the home of stadium facts - The Ultimate Football Ground Guide.
