Application Process

• Priority for halls is given to new first year and foundation year students and accommodation is guaranteed providing the applicant applies for accommodation between the launch date in April, and the deadline date of 7 June 2024
• Forms are available from late April onwards for applicants who have accepted an offer of a place, and made Newman their firm choice
• As a firm applicant, you will automatically receive an email with further information and the link to the application form (This should be received within 10 working days of your place becoming firm) after the launch date in April
• You’ll need to complete the application form and return this electronically
• You should indicate on the form your preferences and any access requirements
• You’ll be advised that your application has been received and the type of accommodation provisionally reserved, pending your place on the course being achieved
• The guarantee does not mean that you will definitely be allocated your first choice of accommodation type, you may be offered an alternative and added to the waiting list
• Accommodation is allocated on a receipt of application basis
• From June, if your place on the course has been achieved and you have no outstanding conditions, you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail and details about actions you need to take and the moving in process
• You’ll need to pay your deposit once you have received an accommodation confirmation. In 2024 this will be £250
• You will be required to complete a Licence to Occupy and set up a payment plan by the end of August
• If you’re offered a room and choose not to take it, you should inform the Accommodation Team
