Biography
Dr. Swati Chattopadhyay is an accomplished scholar and educator with a Doctorate in Public System, Social Welfare and Management from the University of Calcutta, India. She also holds an M.Phil. and a MBA, both awarded with high distinction, reflecting her strong academic foundation in Human Resource Management and allied disciplines.
Currently, Dr. Chattopadhyay serves as a Lecturer in Business at Birmingham Newman University. Prior to this, she held roles as a Part-Time Lecturer in Higher Education Blended Learning at Loughborough College and as a Business Tutor at De Montfort University International College, where she taught Global Business Issues. She continues to contribute as a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Global Health and Life Sciences at De Montfort University, delivering lectures and organising seminars and workshops on management, emotional intelligence, change management, and quantitative research methodologies. She has also acted as a Dissertation supervisor to two of the MSc global health and life science students.
Swati holds an Associate Fellowship in Higher Education and will be pursuing the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCert) along with Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) starting from September.
Her academic expertise spans Human Resources, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour, and advanced quantitative analysis using SPSS and AMOS software. Dr. Chattopadhyay is an active researcher, with nearly 13 publications in peer-reviewed academic journals and edited volumes. She also serves as a reviewer and editor for SAGE Open, where she evaluates scholarly work in the social sciences.
Outside her institutional affiliations, she offers online academic support and consultancy, including PhD-level tutoring in business management and quantitative research methods. Her clientele includes students from leading institutions such as the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM), the London School of Economics, Graz University and Glasgow Caledonian University.

Swati Banerjee’s research interests centre on the intersection of emotional intelligence, occupational stress, and academic administration, with a focus on both the healthcare and education sectors. She is particularly interested in how psychological factors influence professional performance, institutional effectiveness, and individual wellbeing.

Teaching
Swati Banerjee is actively involved in teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a focus on areas related to organisational behaviour, human resource management, research methodology, and academic leadership development. Her teaching approach is rooted in applied learning, encouraging critical thinking, reflective practice, and real-world relevance. She integrates interdisciplinary perspectives into her teaching, drawing on insights from management, psychology, and education. Swati also supervises research projects and dissertations, supporting students in developing robust methodological frameworks and academic writing skills.
Administrative Responsibilities
Swati Banerjee holds key administrative responsibilities within the institution, including her role as a module leader, where she oversees the planning, delivery, and academic quality assurance of specific subject areas. She is also actively engaged in personal tutoring, providing academic and pastoral support to students, monitoring their progress, and guiding them through their educational journey. Her responsibilities contribute to student engagement, and maintaining academic standards She collaborates closely with colleagues on programme coordination and student support initiatives.
