Thinking about further study? As a Birmingham Newman graduate, you may be eligible for a 20% discount on a full Master’s degree programme*.

To be awarded an Alumni discount for a Master’s Degree, you must fulfil the following criteria:

• Have achieved a Birmingham Newman undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree or PGCE
• Be enrolling onto an eligible full-time or part-time Master’s course for the first time in the 2025/26 and 2026/27 academic year (see exclusions below)
• Be a UK, EU or international self-funded student (including those who are in receipt of a postgraduate student loan
• Students who joined Birmingham Newman University in their second or third year of undergraduate study are also eligible.

*Courses exempt from the Alumni discount

The Alumni discount is not open to students wishing to enrol on the following courses:

• Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses
• Graduate Diplomas
• MSc in Adult Nursing or MSc Mental Health Nursing
• PGCE
• Postgraduate Certificates
• Postgraduate Diplomas
• Postgraduate Research Degrees (MPhil and PhD)

Continue to access expert guidance from our Careers team – including CV advice, interview preparation, and job search support – for up to three years after graduation.

Enjoy continued access to the St Chad’s Library, at a discounted rate, so you can keep learning and exploring long after your final assignment.

Alumni are welcome to make use of the facilities at Newman University Sports Centre. There is a special reduced Alumni rate for use of the Fitness Suite.

Replacement Certificates

If your award is validated by Birmingham Newman University and you misplace your award certificate or require a duplicate copy, you can order one on our Payment Portal:

We recommend that you check your award certificate/validating institution before ordering. If you have any questions about your award certificate, please contact the Graduation team: graduation@newman.ac.uk.

If your programme is validated by the University of Leicester you will need to contact the University of Leicester: transcripts@le.ac.uk.

Transcripts

You can request a copy of your final academic transcript through the Payment Portal.

If you need any further information about your transcript, or have any questions, please contact the Assessments team: assessments@newman.ac.uk.

University Reference

A formal letter confirming the date you completed your award, as shown on your final academic transcript, can be provided by contacting registry@newman.ac.uk.

What is the HEAR?

The HEAR is an official, digital document that records your academic results alongside your wider achievements at Birmingham Newman. It includes:

• Module results
• Awards and prizes
• Volunteering and leadership roles
• Extracurricular activities formally recognised by the University

It’s a comprehensive way to present your full university experience to employers, postgraduate institutions, and professional bodies.

Why it matters

In a competitive job market, your story matters. The HEAR gives you a verified, detailed record of your time at Birmingham Newman – helping you demonstrate not just what you studied, but how you contributed and grew as a person.

Submission of your information confirms your agreement that part(s) or all of your edited Alumni Profile and/or your submitted profile picture can be used by the University for promotional and or/marketing purposes in print or online. The Alumni Office will endeavour to contact you before we use your content in any material to ensure that your information is up-to-date, accurate and to gain final consent for use.
