Senate
Council is the University’s main governing body. It is responsible for overall governance and ensuring the University meets the requirements set by the Office for Students.
The University’s Articles of Association require a Senate, which has powers delegated by Council. Senate oversees the academic quality and standards of the University’s awards.
Robust academic governance underpins the University’s registration, degree-awarding powers, university title, and overall sustainability. Senate works in partnership with Council to ensure these governance arrangements remain effective, transparent, and responsive to changing needs.
