The library has for many years subscribed to the three series of commercially produced

microfilm of British books 1475-1800. A considerable proportion of the filmed material is

theological. A considerable collection of CD-ROMs. Also manuscripts, archives, microfilms,

sound and moving images, maps, pictures and photographs.


Church in Wales: records of all Welsh dioceses;

Calvinistic Methodist Archives: records of the Presbyterian Church of Wales;

Significant amounts of records for Baptists, Congregationalists, and Wesleyan Methodists.

Carmarthen Presbyterian College Library;

Presbyterian Church of Wales, Foreign Mission Library, Liverpool;

Trefeca Pre-Theological College Library: Including the library of Howel Harris 1714-1773;

United College of the Calvinistic Methodists Library, Aberystwyth;

Llandaff Cathdral Library: a small portion including the more valuable and rare books;

St Asaph Cathedral Library: the greater part of the collection;

Thomas Witton Davies (1851-1923) Collection: Includes texts in the Hebrew language and

Semitic literature;

Dr Lewis Evans (1898-1978) Collection: books and pamphlets chiefly concerning Morgan

Llwyd, the Welsh Puritan and Jacob Boehme, the German mystic (ca. 100 vols.);

Gwilym Owen (1886-1979) Collection: Theological books in the English language published in

the USA;

Dr Rowland Williams (1817-1870) Collection: Mainly on OT studies, including texts in Hebrew

and Syriac and also works on Church of England doctrine;

Calvinistic Methodist Archives: relating to the history of Welsh Calvinistic Methodism (includes

some printed books), records of the Presbyterian Church of Wales;

Edmund Jones (1702-1793) Collection: Congregational minister's library.

The library has acquired the remains of the following Bray Libraries:

Darowen (Powys) Parochial Library;

Llanboidy (Carmarthenshire) Parochial Library.
