To study at Birmingham Newman University, you’ll typically need 112 UCAS points. Graduates go on to careers in teaching, early years education, youth work, family support, educational consultancy and community development. Some roles may require further training, such as teacher training or postgraduate study, and we’ll help you explore your options throughout your course. 

You’ll explore topics such as child development, education policy, safeguarding, inclusive practice and professional ethics. Modules include research methods, reflective practice, working with families and leadership in education. You’ll also have the opportunity to specialise through optional modules and complete a final-year dissertation or extended project. 

Assessment is varied and designed to help you build both academic and professional skills. You’ll complete essays, presentations, reflective journals, case studies, portfolios and research projects. Birmingham Newman University provides regular feedback and one-to-one support to help you grow in confidence and develop your voice as a practitioner. 

For UK students, tuition fees are £9,535 per year for 2025–26. Fees are reviewed annually and may increase in line with inflation. Birmingham Newman University offers financial support including bursaries, scholarships and flexible payment plans. No fees are paid upfront, and repayments begin only once you earn over £25,000 per year. For international students, fees start at £13,500 per year, with scholarships available for eligible applicants.
