You are invited to join in our Feast Day celebrations of the life and inspiration of our patron St John Henry Newman. A number of different activities are running throughout the day hosted by us at Newman University and more widely by the Archdiocese.

10.00 – 11.00: Newman’s Idea of a University and how we seek to live it out: seminar with Margaret Holland, University Chaplain, with introduction by Prof Jackie Dunne, Vice-Chancellor. On Zoom.

Find out about Newman’s thoughts on Universities, what in his own life shaped this ideas and consider how we endeavour to live such ideas out here at Newman University.

12noon: Celebrate the ordination of our two new Bishops live from St Chad’s Cathedral. To stream the ordination go to www.stchadscathedral.org.uk

Archbishop Bernard Longley will ordain Canon David Evans and Canon Stephen Wright during the celebration of Mass. Both Archbishop Bernard and Canon David are members of our University Council.

4pm -4.30pm: A special evening prayer to give thanks for the life and work of St John Henry Newman. On Zoom.

Draw your day to a close and join us as we turn to God in prayer, reflecting on St John Henry Newman and how his path to holiness can help us.
