  1. By entering the prize draw entrants are accepting these terms and conditions and agreeing to be bound by them. Receiving the prize is dependent on the winner honouring their responsibilities stated within these terms and conditions.
  2. The promoter is Newman University, company number 05493384 whose registered office is Newman University, Genners Lane, Birmingham, B32 3NT.
  3. The competition is being run by Careers and being advertised via the following means: at the Award for Careers and Employability Launch Event’
  4. The competition is open to current Newman University students, not employees of Newman University or their close relatives and not anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
  5. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

  7. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
  8. Closing date for entry is Thursday 6th February 2020. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
  9. No responsibility is accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  10. The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:
    1. Collect a quiz sheet at the Award for Career and Employability Launch Event on 6th February 2020, between 11:30 and 13:30 in the Careers and Employability Hub.
    2. Complete all questions on the sheet.
    3. Submit your question sheet including your name and contact email by posting it in the box available during the event or handing it to a member of the Careers Team.
    4. A winner will be selected at random from those entries where all questions are answered correctly.
  11. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  12. The prize is as follows:
  • A £20 Amazon voucher.
  • This voucher must be collected from the Careers and Employability Hub by the competition winner in person.
  1. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prize is not transferable. The prize is subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  2. A winner will be chosen at random by allocating entries a number and using the website https://www.random.org/, from all entries received and verified by promoter and or its agents.
  3. The winner will be notified by email within 28 days of the closing date.
  4. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  5. The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected / is delivered.
  6. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  7. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  8. The lawful basis for processing the personal data of entrants (data subjects) is legitimate interests. Newman University may use the personal data provided by entrants (name, image and entry) in any publicity material without payment to any prize winner. Any personal data relating to the entrants will be used in accordance with current data protection legislation. We will store the name of the winners for up to 3 years.   9. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants and check their identity.
  10. If you enter via social media, your social media account does not state your full name, and you are a prize winner, you must provide us with your actual name to receive a prize.
  11. All entrants agree to co-operate with and feature in any promotional publicity that may arise, without additional compensation (e.g. pay) including internal and external publications including those on the web, which therefore may be accessible across the world.
  12. A list of prize winners (first and last name and county (where known)) may be obtained by written request by sending an SAE to Award for Careers and Employability Launch Event Competition, Careers, Newman University, Genners Lane, Bartley Green, Birmingham, B32 3NT.
  13. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  14. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other Social Network. You are providing your information to Newman University and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy found at Privacy notice for new and current students.
