Short term loan of equipment

Disability and Mental Health Services have a very small amount of equipment for short term loan including, reading pens, audio recording devices, and some lap tops with assistive technology. These will normally be prioritised to students who need them for exams, are not able to access DSA, or to students pending receipt of equipment through DSA.

This equipment must be returned to disability and inclusion services as soon as you acquire your own equipment, so that it can be loaned to another student. A deposit may be required for loan of equipment.

The Library has a laptop bank which enables students to borrow a laptop for a period of up to 4 hours.

Extended library loans

Students with certain disabilities, health issues or specific learning difficulties, may have difficulty in reading and processing information or difficulties in accessing library services and may therefore be eligible for extended library loans. This is usually an addition of one week to the normal loan periods. Subject to confirmation of your condition and support needs, extensions to library loans will be arranged automatically via disability and mental health services.

There is no need to request this service unless you feel you should be getting extended library loans and for some reason are not. For further information contact Library Services
