Birmingham Newman University was proud to support the Catenians Association in hosting the 38th Public Speaking Competition.
The Catenian Association advances the interests of young Catholics, an aim underpinning the speaking competition.
Thanks to all of the contestant for providing an enlightening evening, and covering a huge variety of topics in their speeches. Also thanking the adjudicators of the event, His Grace Archbishop Bernard Longley, David Handy, and Pat Harrington.
The winner of the event was Ninete Nakah Chele from Bishop Milner Catholic College, with runners-up Michaela Ryan, from Bishop Walsh Catholic Sixth Form, and Calum Edwards from Hagley Catholic High School. Well done to all of the contestants, and the great support given to them from their teachers and families.
