Birmingham Newman University sponsors the Worcestershire Education Awards.
Staff from Birmingham Newman University attended the sixth Worcestershire Education Awards at a ceremony celebrating the best in teaching.
The awards spotlighted those who continued to make a difference in the field of education in and around Worcestershire. Teaching staff were rewarded and recognised by their peers in the teaching and education sector for their hard work both in the classroom and behind the scenes.
As lead sponsor of the awards, Birmingham Newman University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jackie Dunne, addressed the guests with a keynote speech in which she stressed the importance of Birmingham Newman’s commitment to education:
“At Birmingham Newman University, our mission is to serve our communities by making high-quality education accessible to all who can benefit from it. We are proud to be ranked 1st in the UK for student satisfaction in the 2023 National Student Survey and 1st in England for social inclusion in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024. It is so important that we have opportunities like this evening to recognise and celebrate the achievements of our educational partners.”
There were 12 categories and Jane Bradley, Associate Dean – Recruitment & Partnerships from the Faculty of Education, Birmingham Newman University presented the Outstanding Contribution to Education Award to Far Forest Primary Academy.
Jane Bradley commented on the awards:
“I am delighted we supported the Worcestershire Education Awards 2024. It was a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the tremendous efforts of those working in education to support children and young people across the region.”
Since 1968, Birmingham Newman has been training teachers. More than 14,000 qualified teachers from Birmingham Newman have gone on to make a significant contribution to our communities and create a positive impact on the lives of children and young people locally, regionally, and nationally.
