Clearing as it should be Birmingham Newman University opens doors on results day

14/08/2025 by Amie Pedersen

As students across the country receive their A-level results today, Birmingham Newman University is reminding students that Clearing is a chance to discover new possibilities, change direction, and make confident, informed choices about their future.

Nursing student Ambra, turned to Clearing when her initial university choices didn’t work out.  “The advice I would give to someone going through clearing would be to apply, to put away your fears, because the result may be positive and might be better than you expect.”

Current Mental Health Nursing student Chris, decided to apply to the University after attending an open day. He felt a strong connection to the university and the supportive community it offered. “Don’t be worried about applying, it’s best just to get stuck in, everybody here is supportive and encouraging. It was something I was worried about before I started, but I am glad I did, I got the chance to become a better me.”

After taking a gap year and facing a change in plans, current Criminology student Rebeca found that Clearing aligned perfectly with her goals.

“If you are going through clearing my advice would be to not overthink it, it’s better to try then regret not trying.”
