This time the event saw distinguished elite sport practitioners’ Dr Martin Buchheit, (HIIT Science) and Dr Alan Ruddock (Boxing Science) educate the delegates about the science and application of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).  HIIT is a time efficient method of exercise training that has been widely used and one that has recently encouraged many people to get involved in exercise in their own homes. During the course of the short workshop attendees received an introduction to the research and on-field application of HIIT and how theoretical knowledge, research evidence and on-field experience can come together to provide effective training solutions.

Dr Martin Buchheit has worked with elite sports teams and individuals across continents and sports and widely respected as one of the leading practitioners of his generation. He has recently come together with long term colleague and friend Dr Paul Laursen to develop the HIIT Science course which aims to close the gap between research and practice. In an impressive effort they have managed to bring together experts on over 20 sports to provide an authoritative guide on HIIT. BASES endorse of the course means that members who enrol on the course will also gain CPD points towards their BASES accreditation.
