Newman University’s Faisal Mahmood appears on Sky TV

Senior Lecturer in Counselling at Newman University, Faisal Mahmood, has recently appeared on Sky TV’s Roundtable programme talking about Mental Health within ethnic minority communities.

The programme aired on Wednesday evening on TRT World and saw Faisal discussing mental health with presenter David Foster; Founder of Taraki, Shuranjeet Singh; and Tarek Younis, Clinical and cultural Psychologist.

With World Mental Health day just a week ago and the government also recently holding the world’s first global ministerial health summit, the topic is one that is at the forefront of many people’s minds. On the programme the panel addressed the view that the UK is failing ethnic minorities when it comes to mental health.

The panel gave their expert views on the topic speaking on the reasons they believe mental health and seeking help with mental health is a problem within the ethnic minority communities.
