The PGCE application portal has opened today, Tuesday 9th October.

Those interested in undertaking their teacher training in academic year 2019-20 can now apply for places to our PGCE programmes via the UCAS Teacher Training page. To apply simply click on ‘Find programmes in England’ and you will be taken to the new GOV.UK portal. You can then search for Newman University in the ‘find courses by location or by training provider search facility.

If you are an aspiring teacher it is important to apply as early as possible as places are limited.

Newman University was founded as a teacher training college 50 years ago to train teachers for Birmingham and the West Midlands. Over these 50 years Newman University has grown to become a University that still has undergraduate and postgraduate teacher training as a core responsibility, with over 13,000 students becoming qualified teachers.

Since Newman University was founded in 1968 it has been able to develop a wide network throughout the West Midlands of partner schools and Newman qualified teachers, many of whom are now Head Teachers and senior leaders in the West Midlands, and the University continues to train successful teachers each year.
