Research project by Newman Health & Wellbeing

25/11/2019 by Sinead Staunton

Newman Health & Wellbeing Counselling & Psychotherapy is starting an exciting new research project looking at the outcomes of counselling in conjunction with the largest national professional body, British Association Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

The research project will compare counselling outcomes from four university based counselling clinics that work in the local community, including Abertay, Salford, York St John, and Newman Health & Wellbeing.

The outcomes of this research project will be collated by BACP to understand more about the effectiveness of counselling.

Prior to starting the research the four universities, known as the Research and Training Clinics Consortium, presented at the BACP Research Conference in May, with a view to encouraging other university counselling and psychotherapy departments to understand more about setting up counselling clinics.
