Ian Fellows is a Senior Lecturer in Enterprise and Employability

Ian Fellows, Senior Lecturer in Enterprise and Employability at Birmingham Newman University has been awarded Fellowship of Enterprise Educators UK (EEUK).

Enterprise Educators UK (EEUK) advocates for entrepreneurship education and supports best practices among staff across its member institutions.

EEUK Enables excellence in enterprise and entrepreneurship education, connecting and supporting enterprise and entrepreneurship educators across the world. EEUK inspires its members to innovate whilst increasing the scale, scope, and effectiveness of their practice and research to influence positive change in UK and International Policy.

Commenting on the announcement, Ian Fellows said: “I am delighted and honoured to receive this recognition for the work I’ve done with the student and graduate entrepreneurs of Birmingham Newman University.  In an environment where enterprise skills are increasingly sought after, seeing the learning, development, and growth of our entrepreneurs has been one of the most satisfying parts of my role.”

The EEUK assessor noted that “this is a strong and values driven application, that clearly articulates the necessary competencies of the applicant, and the opportunity for continued development to be a more effective enterprise educator, and positive contributor to the #ented community.”

Ian has spent twenty-five years in leadership positions in public, private, and third sector organisations in the UK and the Republic of Ireland before working in higher education. Ian leads on work-related learning programmes and the Masters in work-based learning.  He also runs e.school providing start-up support to student entrepreneurs.

Ian also acts as a consultant to local businesses and social enterprises on a range of strategic matters.

Ian holds a Masters in Education (Higher Education) and another in Work-Based Learning (Business Management). He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting, and a Chartered Manager.

Fellowship of Enterprise Educators UK award is national award that recognises those who have made a significant and sustained contribution to the development of entrepreneurial outcomes.
