Senior Lecturer in Criminology at Newman University, Birmingham has seen his work published in the July edition of Children and Young People Now.

Pete Harris spent 18 years as a youth worker and then a senior manager for a children’s charity before joining Newman in 2010. In 2012 he co-led a multinational research project examining youth work responses to youth violence, the findings of which became a book entitled “Responding to Youth Violence through Youth Work” in September 2016.

Pete’s latest work focuses on how youth workers need to adapt and engage with young people online as 96% of teenagers use social media; in the article Pete also talks of ways in which youth workers can use social media to communicate.
