Newman Intramural League has officially announced that they will be hosting a football extravaganza as a grand opening for their new and upcoming weekly football intramural league in partnership with the Birmingham FA. Students of the University can be involved in a fun, friendly and safe event which will be hosted on Monday 10th December from 4-7pm and will be located on the brand new 3G pitch at Newman University. Refreshments will be provided in the sports hall followed by an after party in the students very own bar, Senses after the event.

The Newman intramural league, set up by Sports students as part of their degree programme to enhance employability, will be available for all University students of any ability. Teams will consist of a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 7. Students will be able to sign-up for this event at the sports centre reception, but places will be limited so sign up needs to be quick! As this event will be running for charity, all participants are requested to donate £1 for ‘Libby Maes little angles’ which helps babies with life threatening illnesses. Once students have signed up, more details will be given to them with regards to the afternoon schedule.

The event will consist of a football tournament with prizes for the winning team. Alongside the football matches there will be opportunities to take part in mini games to keep students warm for their matches and raise more money for charity. This football tournament is purely aimed at having fun within a safe and friendly environment. All students are advised to wear sports kit and suitable shoes.

The event will be packed with friendly suspense and all students should come along and bring their friends to join the fun. With a Christmas theme there is simply no better way to end the university semester than coming for a kick about with your friends.
