NCTL logoNewman University’s Faculty of Education has received the great news from the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) that the university will be allocated additional places to train student-teachers in PE with other English Baccalaureate subjects.

The English Baccalaureate subjects include English, mathematics, history, geography, sciences – Biology, Chemistry and Physics, as well as computing. Students who undertake this route of teacher-training will receive additional subject knowledge development so that they are able to deliver their subsidiary subject.

Newman is pleased to be part of this new initiative as the university supports schools with candidates who will have a second subject to support shortage subjects in schools.

The route only adds to the extensive teacher training options offered by Newman University which are also highly respected within the sector.
