In the latest Research Excellence Framework (2014) Newman entered a significant proportion of its academic staff, with much of the work submitted rated as Internationally Excellent, and three areas classified as World-Leading.
Research is an important part of scholarly activity at Newman, indeed one of the great benefits to undergraduate students at Newman is that they are taught by research active staff passionate about sharing the new knowledge they generated to students. The ethos of a scholarly community espoused by Blessed John Henry Newman is alive within Newman University, therefore the development of early career researchers, as well as supporting established readers and professors, is an important aspect of Newman’s research strategy.
