Biography
Ayo Popoola is a Lecturer in Law, bringing a wealth of both practical and academic experience to her role. Prior to her current position, she served as a Visiting Lecturer at the University, where she quickly established herself as a knowledgeable and engaging educator.
Ayo is a qualified Barrister, having been called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2010. She is also a Solicitor with Higher Rights of Audience and a Chartered Legal Executive, reflecting her broad and versatile legal expertise. Over the course of her career, she has worked within a top-tier Legal 500 firm, chambers, and other respected legal institutions. She has appeared in courts across the country, gaining extensive advocacy experience and first-hand insight into the workings of the legal system at various levels.
Her academic qualifications include an LLB and two Master’s degrees: an LLM in Healthcare Ethics and Law, and an LLM in Professional Legal Practice. This strong academic foundation complements her practical background and enhances her teaching across the university’s Law programmes.
Ayo is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn and is committed to bringing legal practice to academic training. Her diverse experience and insight into legal practice equip learners with an applied understanding of the law, helping to prepare them for the realities of legal practice.
