Dr Faisal Shahzad

Biography

Dr. Faisal Shahzad is an accomplished academic and research analyst with a strong background in business and management. I hold a Ph.D. in Business and Management from Aberystwyth University, an M.Sc. in Project Management from the University of South Wales, and an MBA from the City University of Sciences and IT, Peshawar. He holds a PGCert from the University of Greenwich and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

His research interests include AI in leadership and management, supply chain management, FinTech, and sustainability. He has secured research grants, including funding for projects on student engagement and brand communities, and has presented his work at international conferences. Administrative Responsibilities

Dr. Faisal Shahzad has held several leadership and administrative roles in higher education. At Birmingham Newman University, he played a key role in growing the foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate business programmes while supporting the Course Leader and Head of Subject at the Business School. His responsibilities included personal tutoring and module leadership to enhance the student experience.

At the University of Greenwich, he contributed to institutional initiatives by participating in curriculum reviews during the revalidation process and through academic mentoring. He also supervised undergraduate and postgraduate dissertation students, coordinated student engagement projects, and collaborated on cross-school administrative tasks.

Additionally, as an Academic Progress Coach at Coventry University, he provided guidance on student performance monitoring and record-keeping. His administrative expertise extends to grant project coordination, including funded initiatives on student success, brand communities and SMEs.

  • First Supervisor for multiple postgraduate dissertations at the University of Greenwich and Coventry University, covering topics in leadership, management, corporate governance, AI applications in business, and management practices.
  • Recognised as Post Graduate Research Supervisor of the Year (2024) at the University of Greenwich for excellence in guiding student research.
  • 2024: Presented a co-authored paper, “Paper Development Workshop | Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice”, at the University of Coimbra, Portugal.
