
Biography
Mark originally worked as a primary school teacher in Worcestershire and Birmingham before lecturing in Primary Education in higher education.
Mark is a passionate geographer who has been instrumental in developing international partnerships namely with The Gambia, West Africa. Leading many field visits over the last decade for Birmingham Newman University, facilitating opportunities for undergraduate and post graduate students to experience and engage with the global dimension of education. Mark has led a wide range of fieldwork within the UK, Europe and Africa ensuring that students achieve and indeed exceed their potential.
Mark currently leads the PGCE Secondary Geography course and works with a wide range of partners across the West Midlands and further a field ensuring that students reach their full potential.
In addition to his role at Birmingham Newman University, Mark chairs a progressive and dynamic charity organisation known as Building Futures in The Gambia, whose aim is primarily to build schools and educational facilities across West Africa.
