Our modern campus is located in south-west Birmingham, around 12km from the city centre, with regular buses connecting you to everything the city has to offer.

- Once nominated, we’ll send you a link to our application form.
- Complete the form and send it back with any supporting documents.
- If accepted, we’ll guide you through enrolment and your course options.

Why study abroad?
Studying abroad is a brilliant way to broaden your horizons. You’ll build confidence, experience new cultures, and gain skills that employers value-like adaptability, independence and global awareness.
As a Birmingham Newman student, you can apply to spend a semester at one of our partner universities, or take part in shorter programmes like summer schools.
Funding your experience
We apply for Turing Scheme funding each year to help support students studying or working abroad. This funding is designed to contribute to your costs, though you may need to cover some expenses yourself. The amount available depends on your destination and the type of placement.
How to apply
- Complete the Overseas Experience application form.
- Our Overseas Experience Coordinator will be in touch—usually within 14 days—with next steps.
- Opportunities for 2026 will be advertised from October.
