The Accounting and Finance team is comprised of staff who have both academic and professional experiences in the sectors. The team is led by Senior Lecturer, Chinedu Aghanenu.
Students will also be taught by Business tutors who have extensive experience and – Dr Taimur Shariff, Dr Gautam Rajkhowa, and Anne-Marie McDermott.
Taimur is the Head of Business in the Faculty of Arts, Society & Professional Studies. He is a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE) of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS), UK; a Senior Fellow of the Advance HE (formerly, HEA), UK; a Chartered Manager FCMI of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), UK and a Chartered Manager of the Chartered Institute of Managerment (CIM), Canada.

Level 4 modules contain fundamentals of financial accounting, fundamentals of management accounting, introduction to finance, business economics, and modules unlocking students business acumen. A combination of Lectures, seminars, group discussions, presentations, Q&A sessions, and videos are used to deliver the modules in scheduled sessions. Students are provided opportunities for personalised learning where students are known to their tutors by name, not as a number.
