Elizabeth Plumber

Liz has lectured at Newman University since February 2008. Following the completion of her BEd Hons degree in Physical Education, from Bedford College of Physical Education Liz returned to her home town of Birmingham to teach P.E. During this time Liz taught across a range of key stages and was responsible for the development of a variety of activities. From this Liz became a school sports co-ordinator working across a partnership of two secondary schools. Her journey then took her to be the course leader for the PGCE PE teaching route at Newman University.

Karen Teasdale – Lecturer in SITE: Professional studies

 

Students will be taught as a whole cohort for professional studies and then in subject areas by a range of tutors. Lectures will be delivered via a blended method allowing the use of on-site sessions, virtual spaces, and placement visits.

Module Titles (Level 4)

Introduction to professional academic studies – 20 credits

Introduction to teaching and learning – 20 credits

Subject knowledge and pedagogy – 20 credits

Planning for learning and subject delivery – 20 credits

Understanding Professional Practice – 40 credits

4 weeks of experience KS3 (20 days)

All subjects: Tuesdays 9am-12pm and Fridays 9am-12pm

Plus

English: Thursdays 9am-12pm

Maths: Mondays 12pm-3pm

PE: Mondays 9am-12pm

RE: Mondays 2pm-5pm

Physics: Mondays 2pm-5pm
