Chaplaincy is:

  • Space to be You
  • Space to Pause
  • Space to Make a Difference
  • Space to Pray
  • Space to Reflect
  • Space with Support

Whatever your shape, there’s a space, for your views, your questions, your gifts, simply for YOU.

Chaplaincy is your space for spiritual, religious and pastoral support.

Here for all – our particular traditions within the team are Catholic and Muslim.

The Chaplaincy supports the Christian Union, Newman Islamic Society and links with the Asian Society who meet regularly.  For more information please email our Chaplain Margaret Holland or Newman Students’ Union.

Find out about our events and activities including Mass which is celebrated in St Mary’s Chapel on Mondays and Wednesdays (8.20am) in semester time. Find out more.

We think we have the best places on campus, namely our Chapel, Multi-Faith Prayer room and a Blessed Sacrament Chapel for prayer and reflection. All are located along Chapel Gallery Walk in the Julian of Norwich building. Allied to these is the Chaplaincy Office, located just off the Atrium in DW103

Most importantly do come and say hello, it would be great to meet you.

In the meantime if you’d like to explore, find out more about yourself, the campus and link to the Chaplaincy check out:

  • Our Reflective Campus Walk, which you can do yourself or join us during Welcome Week for an in person version and find your way around the spaces that can nourish your soul.
  • Your own Spirit Level: a means to exploring where your spirit is nourished and how often you pay attention to this part of yourself, with the option for further one-to-one conversation with one of the Chaplaincy team.
  • Our Newman Service Award, which will allow you to gain recognition for any volunteering you do in your own faith community or because of your faith and belief.
  • During Welcome Week make sure you find your Chaplaincy Wings and put yourself in the picture.
