Biography

Before her current position, Louise studied Theology and the Philosophy of Religion at the University of Exeter and in 2005 gained a doctorate in the Divinity Faculty at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Douglas Hedley. 

Research Interests

  • Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century English Platonism;
  • Contemporary developments in Natural Theology, and its place in the science-theology conversation.

  • TH515 - Science and Religion (2nd year module)
  • TH606 - Philosophical Perspectives on Religion (3rd year module)
  • TH613 - Issues in Contemporary Ethics (3rd year module)

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Programme leader for theology postgraduate taught courses

Membership of Professional Organisations

Louise is currently on the committee of the UK’s Science and Religion Forum, and is a member of the American Academy of Religion, the British Society for the History of Philosophy, and the British Society for the Philosophy of Religion.
