Birmingham Newman University invites applications for the position of Director of Postgraduate Studies within the School of Business and Law. This key role is dedicated to leading the strategic development and operational delivery of our postgraduate qualifications, with a special focus on serving the international market. The role will also work with the Associate Dean to establish the school’s Higher and Degree Apprenticeship programmes. As an integral part of the school’s senior management team, the appointed Director will be instrumental in directing the growth and development of our academic offerings, thereby significantly influencing the school’s strategic trajectory.

The Director of Postgraduate Studies is charged with the management of the postgraduate programmes tailored to meet the needs of international students and the demands of a global employment market. This initiative requires close collaboration with international partners and agents to manage programmes that not only attract but also retain a diverse student body from across the globe. In addition to these responsibilities, the Director will work with the Associate Dean to lead the school’s move into Higher and Degree Apprenticeships.

A significant part of this role involves forging and deepening relationships with industry and academic partners. Such collaborations are essential for ensuring the continued relevance of our programmes and for enhancing the employability outcomes of our graduates. The Director will also uphold the highest standards of quality assurance, setting our postgraduate programmes apart in terms of quality and impact.
