Festival of Doctoral Research held at Newman today
Newman’s sixth annual Festival of Doctoral Research is currently being held today, Thursday 5th July 2018.
The Festival is to showcase the range and strengths of Newman’s current doctoral researchers.
This year Newman’s postgraduate research students were asked to prepare a presentation on their thesis. Inspiration was taken from the Three Minute Thesis competition, held each year in over 200 universities worldwide, in which participants present their projects in an engaging form that can be understood by an audience with no background in the research area.
The sessions cover a range of topics including: Computing, Recovery and Health; Catholicism, Education, Political and Literary Culture; Youth, Training and Education; and Reflections on Teaching and Theatre Practice.
